backpacking

(Backpack from Free People, Pins and keychains from Disneyland and Tokyo Disneyland)

I finally purchased a new school bag. I've been using the same one for the past two years and it has gone through so, so much. We've had to sew the straps back on and add patches to the sides of the front pocket when it started to rip. I knew that Junior year called for a change. After browsing various websites and convincing myself that certain beautiful, white backpacks wouldn't be right for the rough-and-tumble of school, I decided on this one at free people. It's a sort of style in that it already looks a bit worn, which I love. It looks like denim, but that's just the color of the cloth, and although it's a subtle color, the back of the straps have this pop of orange that makes them unique. The interior is gray with stars, and has a single pocket on the inside. Each side as two outer pockets as well, and overall the amount of space is enormous and perfect. I'm also in love with the straps because after using this backpack at Disneyland for a test run, I found that it was insanely comfortable to carry. One of the most unique things about this backpack is that the straps can be unhooked and moved around to change it into a handbag (definitely the selling point for me). The square shape is also fantastic because it mirrors the shape of all the books and binders I'll be carrying. All that is left is to test if it will hold up against my heavy demands during school. If I was going to recommend things you should look for in a backpack, I would say tons of space, a few good-sized pockets, an interior pocket (so your valuables are less likely to fall out or be stolen), comfortable straps, and a subtle color that will go well with practically anything you could possibly wear. Thank you Free People for making such an ideal bag!

P.S. I'm a Disney-lover, specifically Winnie-the-Pooh, Stitch, Sully, and Minnie Mouse of course.
